Treatment Instructions

• Take two tablets 2 hours to 24 hours before sexual activity.
• Take one tablet 24 hours after the first dose.
• Take one tablet 48 hours after the first dose (24 hours after the second dose).

It is crucial to follow this exact cycle (2 tablets - 1 tablet - 1 tablet).

Important Note

It is important to remember that the timing of the doses is based on the time of the first dose, not the time of completion of sexual activity.

For Consecutive Days of Sexual Activity

If you have sexual activity on consecutive days, continue taking one tablet every 24 hours. After the last instance of sexual activity, take two more doses 24 hours apart.

[Common side effects]

• Headache, nausea, and abdominal distension may occur (around 2%).
• Most of the side effects are mild and usually go away within a month. However, if the side effects are severe or bother you, please consult your doctor.
• If you experience fever, fatigue, or cold-like symptoms (flu-like symptoms), consult your doctor as soon as possible, as these may not be side effects but may be HIV infection before or immediately after starting PrEP.

• Taficita (generic Descovy tablets) can only be taken by men or transgender women.
