This medication is approved by the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare in Japan for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, but it is not approved for obesity treatment in Japan. Medications like Wegovy (semaglutide) and Saxenda are approved for obesity treatment in Japan. Additionally, an injectable version of the same active ingredient has been approved by the U.S. FDA for obesity treatment.
This medication is sourced from authorized domestic distributors (pharmaceutical wholesalers).
Possible side effects include nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, acute pancreatitis, and hypoglycemia symptoms such as cold sweats, dizziness, trembling, feeling faint, and weakness.

Saxenda
