PrEP: Consult a Doctor First (For STI Prevention)

*On-Demand PrEP (Taking Before and After Sex)

• ①. 2 to 24 hours before sex: Take 2 pills.
• ②. 24 hours after the first dose: Take 1 pill.
• ③. 48 hours after the first dose (24 hours after the second dose): Take 1 more pill.

⚠ Important:

• Follow the 2 pills – 1 pill – 1 pill cycle exactly.
• The timing is based on when you take the first dose, not when sex ends.
• If you have sex on consecutive days: Continue taking 1 pill every 24 hours and stop after 2 more doses following your last sexual activity.

*Daily PrEP (Taking Every Day)

• Take 1 pill every day at the same time each day.
• This method provides continuous HIV protection.

*How to Take Doxy-PEP

• Take 200 mg of Doxycycline within 72 hours after sex, with plenty of water.

• It is one way to prevent HIV infection.
• If taken as scheduled, it has been shown to prevent approximately 99% of sexually transmitted HIV infections.

[Common Side Effects]

• Some people (around 2%) may experience headache, nausea, or bloating.
• These side effects are usually mild and go away within about a month.
• If the side effects are severe or concerning, consult a doctor.

If you experience fever, fatigue, or flu-like symptoms, it may not be a side effect but a sign of HIV infection before or shortly after starting PrEP. In this case, consult a doctor immediately.
